HANNAH BARWICK
PRINCIPAL
Hannah completed a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Melbourne in 2005.
Hannah has been a solicitor in the Children's Court for 20 years and established Barwick and Associates Solicitors in 2010. She identifies the Children's Court as one of the most socially significant areas of law and is passionate about government transparency and accountability and, ultimately, fair outcomes for families.

Hannah is a member of Victoria Legal Aid's Child Protection, Family Violence and Summary Youth Crime panels.

EMMA BRIDGE
SENIOR ASSOCIATE
Emma completed a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Melbourne in 1987 and became an accredited mediator in 2009. Emma's early work included criminal law, family law, discrimination, tenancy, social security, crimes compensation and general civil matters.

For the past thirty years, Emma has worked exclusively in the Children's Court as both a facilitator in alternative dispute resolution and as a solicitor. Emma was the principal of her own legal practice for 17 years before joining Barwick and Associates Solicitors in 2024.​
Emma has also been a member at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal since 2003.​​​ Emma's broad range of experience informs her understanding and holistic approach to her advocacy. Emma is a member of Victoria Legal Aid's Child Protection, Family Violence and Summary Youth Crime panels.

ALICE MILLAR
ASSOCIATE
Alice completed a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts from Monash University in 2019 and recently completed her Master of Laws at Monash University, majoring in Global Studies and Human Rights. Alice initially worked as an in- house lawyer at the Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency, practicing in areas of law reform, policy and in- court advocacy.
Alice commenced at Barwick and Associates Solicitors in 2023. With a strong focus on advocacy, Alice is dedicated to representing parents and children with compassion and efficacy. Alice is a member of Victoria Legal Aid's Child Protection and Family Violence panels.

SHIVANI SHORY
ASSOCIATE
Shivani completed a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Tasmania in 2018.​ Shivani initially worked in crime, appearing frequently as a Duty Lawyer in Magistrates Courts in Tasmania. Shivani also has experience in property law. More recently, Shivani worked as an in- court Registrar at the Melbourne Children's Court.

Shivani commenced at Barwick and Associates Solicitors in 2024. Shivani takes a compassionate approach when assisting clients to navigate complex proceedings and enjoys achieving positive outcomes.

YASHIMA KUMAR
ASSOCIATE
Yashima completed a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Science from Monash University in 2021. Yashima commenced her career as a solicitor in the Children's Court, appearing in both metropolitan and regional courts throughout Victoria.
​Yashima commenced at Barwick and Associates Solicitors in early 2025. Yashima values meaningful client connection and believes strong advocacy correlates with active listening, compassion and critical thinking.
